KT Rama Rao (KTR), former Telangana Minister and son of former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, directed his harshest criticism toward Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
While addressing the media regarding the alleged atrocities committed by the Revanth Reddy-led government in Telangana against tribal women, farmers, and marginalised communities, KTR accused Gandhi of turning a blind eye to the alleged oppression in the state.
Speaking to the media in Delhi, he said, “We have come to Delhi to reveal the truth about the suffering of tribal women and farmers in Telangana.”
Turning his attention to Rahul Gandhi, KTR questioned his silence on the issue. “Rahul Gandhi often speaks about the welfare of farmers, BCs, Dalits, and tribals, but he has not spoken about the suffering of tribal women in Revanth Reddy’s own constituency of Kodangal,” KTR said. He pointed out the contradiction between Gandhi’s promises for the welfare of the poor and his lack of action on the ongoing oppression in Telangana.
“Rahul Gandhi talks about Bharat Jodo, but what about tribal women being torn apart in his own party-ruled state? Where is the Congress’s so-called moral compass now?” KTR asked, accusing Gandhi of hypocrisy and selective activism.
He also accused the Congress of failing to stand with the tribals and farmers in the state, questioning why Rahul Gandhi has not raised his voice against police brutality and the illegal land grabs orchestrated by the Telangana government. KTR demanded that Rahul Gandhi take action and press Revanth Reddy to address the issue, stating, “If Rahul Gandhi is truly committed to the welfare of the poor, he should intervene and stop these atrocities.”
